Healthy Smoothie Recipes

I'm sure I'm not alone in getting a bit carried away over the festive season, eating a little too much of the things I shouldn't. Thankfully I didn't splurge uncontrollably, but even so, as soon as January arrived I felt I needed to re-introduce some discipline and get back on track.

 

So I've been trying out some new smoothies, packed with superfood ingredients and intended to help me lose a little weight ahead of my next holiday. I have enjoyed one every morning for breakfast along with a cup of Pukka Supreme Matcha green tea. So far I'm feeling pretty good and haven't been tempted to snack mid-morning.

 

 

Blueberry and Avocado Smoothie

 

300ml fortified rice milk

80g fresh or frozen blueberries

1/2 medium avocado

1 tsp coconut oil

1/2 tsp cinnamon

Large handful frozen spinach

 

 

Protein Power Super Smoothie

 

300ml almond milk

3 tbsp chocolate protein powder (I use Maxi Nutrition Lean)

1 tbsp Maca powder

1 tbsp chia seeds

1 tsp turmeric powder

1/2 tsp cinnamon

1 tsp almond butter

1/2 frozen banana

 

 

Choc Chia Matcha Smoothie

 

300ml fortified rice milk

4 tbsp chocolate protein powder (I use Maxi Nutrition Lean)

1 tbsp Matcha green tea powder

1 tbsp chia seeds

Large handful frozen spinach

 

 

Berry Special Almond Smoothie

 

300ml almond milk

80g fresh strawberries

1 tbsp almond butter

1 tsp cinnamon

40g frozen blueberries

 

 

Beetroot and Banana Oat Smoothie

 

300ml coconut milk

1 tbsp gluten free oats

1 tbsp almond butter

1/2 tsp cinnamon

1/2 frozen banana

40g frozen beetroot

 

 

Honey and Ginger Choco-Nut Smoothie

 

300ml fortified rice milk

3 tbsp chocolate protein powder (I use Maxi Nutrition Lean)

1 tbsp coconut oil

1 tbsp chopped fresh ginger

1 tsp turmeric

1 tsp honey

1/2 frozen banana

 

 

 

For all recipes, put all the ingredients in a blender and blend for approximately 1 minute until smooth.
